Andrew, I'm running 8.7e. I went through and matched up all of the dependencies in the data queries, exported the template and reimported it and it looks like it is good to go.

Thanks

Greg,

To be honest, I'm not sure what would cause the unmet dependencies. The templates were exported from an 0.8.7f instance, so if you are using the 0.8.7g, that could explain some of it perhaps.

I am at VMworld this week, when I return I will re export the templates from the newest version of Cacti. If you have a list of the errors that may prove useful as well.

Thanks for reading,

Andrew

Andrew, I had a problem when I imported the cacti template, I had a lot of unmet dependencies. I went through and tried to add the other templates that were referenced yet the same happened when I re imported. Is there something I am missing?

Manuel,

You can monitor LUN statistics using a script very similar to this. I will work on modifying the script and making some templates. Hopefully I can get it posted sometime soon!

Thanks for reading,

Andrew

Hi Glenn,

Do you know it this still works with powercli 4.1? It looks like get-VMhostStorage is not working like it is supposed to in that version...

Get-VMHostStorage : 8/12/2010 9:13:21 AM Get-VMHostStorage Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
At line:1 char:35
+ $VMHostStorage = Get-VMHostStorage <<<< -VMHost "pbnvm16.petrobakken.pvt" | Set-VMHostStorage -SoftwareIScsiEnabled $True
    + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [Get-VMHostStorage], VimException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : Core_BaseCmdlet_UnknownError,VMware.VimAutomation.ViCore.Cmdlets.Commands.Host.GetVMHostStorage

Thanks,

Braga,

I don't know of a way to add additional functionality to busybox. It is very minimal, so there is no package management or compiler. You may be able to check the main <a href="http://www.busybox.net/" rel="nofollow">busybox project</a> to see if they have add in packages.

That being said, it is probably a bad idea to add software. Not only does it complicate your load process (you now have to decompose each ESXi release and add software), but it most likely puts your ESXi in an unsupported state by VMware, and could potentially add in some undesired after effects (changing libraries, etc. could cause ESXi's primary functionality to fail).
